Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team are back with their ‘Big Build’, helping bring life back into a derelict street in East Manchester and create homes and a support centre for war veterans. This is their biggest build yet, transforming 62 homes across two streets.
During the two one hour programmes that are due to be screened on BBC One on the 14th and 21st October at 9pm, viewers will see eight of the street’s empty homes refurbished to create adapted residential homes for veterans and their families.
This is a first-of-its-kind partnership, seeing the project bringing together: Manchester City Council, Big Build, Walking With the Wounded, Haig Housing, Adactus Housing Groups, along with a huge amount of time, expertise, materials and supplies donated to the project by volunteer contractors. In addition, many suppliers, utilities and smaller specialist companies have come forward to help out on this special DIY SOS build.
This is definitely not one to be missed! Tune in on the 14th & 21st October on BBC One at 9pm to watch this fantastic build unfold.
