Angela Lamont - Full CV

Angela is a very bright and personable presenter with an intelligent (she’s a member of MENSA), but friendly and engaging approach.

An IT graduate with a business background, Angela designed computer systems for several companies including IBM before being approached to present the prestigious Faraday Lectures.  Having toured the UK and Ireland for almost a year with the science lecture series she was approached by the BBC to present several science programmes on both television and radio.

Due to her industry knowledge, practical approach and accessible yet professional style, Angela soon engaged in corporate, as well as broadcast, work and has a long and prestigious client list.

She has presented in all situations, from crowds of thousands at the NEC, the Barbican and Olympia, to a select few at Buckingham Palace.  Perhaps the most telling aspect of Angela’s work is the amount of clients who ask her back time after time and the amount of “one-off” projects that have been re-commissioned for years.

Her TV Credits include:-

It’ll never work?  [BBC 1] (on air for six years) this was a quirky science-comedy programme ranging from the serious to the ridiculous. It started as a one-off series but was still going six years later, pulling in an audience of up to 4.5 million. It won a BAFTA, two RTS awards and two Prix Jeunesse, plus awards in Australia & Bratislava.  A great asset for the BBC, this programme has now been sold worldwide.

The Physical World -  An Open University production for BBC2’s Learning Zone.

Science Fix [BBC Knowledge] A 24-part series exploring ‘everything you ever wanted to know about science but were afraid to ask’

The Fragile Planet [Channel 5] This was a ten part ecology series made by Anglia TV.

Angela  also has extensive experience in Radio, including:-

Ground Control [BBC Radio 4] A programme that followed large engineering projects such as The Eden Project from start to finish.
